The Lyrics Pages

Why a Lyrics Page?
Not many bands post their lyrics online. Sometimes it has to do with copyright, and sometimes it may be because the lyrics are bad, meaningless, or worse. We know a few bands whose lyrics aren't even decent. Some venues, like coffeehouses, churches and family-oriented events need to be assured that a band's songs will be palatable for a wide audience. I don't see any problem in anyone booking a group to know what they will be singing about.

To that end we'll be soon posting the lyrics to many of our songs for you to read yourself. In some cases we may change a lyric or two to "clean up" a song or to make it more current. We know we don't have to be vulgar to be relevant.

The Songs
We bring an ecclectic mix of classic and current songs from rock, country, bluegrass, easy listening and beyond. We also roll in songs about boats, the sea, mermaids, pirates and lighthouses. Many of our songs are covers from other bands or "traditionals" where the author is unknown. A few are ones we penned ourselves. Whenever possible we'll identify the author and/or the band that made it popular, if it ever really was popular.

A Partial List
We haven't built all the lyrics pages yet, but they are on their way. Because there are a lot of songs on the current list it may never become complete. And we have a tendency to add new songs all the time at a rate of 2 or 3 new ones per month. When we have the lyrics posted for a given song you will find it by clicking on the song title from the list. None are listed yet as the site is under construction. I'll try to get some of the lyrics posted in November.
