What We Sound Like
Recently we were compared to The Shaw Brothers, which was a huge compliment. But we have a different approach and song selections. Another comparison was early acoustic Beatles, which is an even bigger compliment. We get a lot of requests for BeeGees and for CSN&Y because we have pretty good harmonies and more complex song arrangements than most acoustic duoss. The fastest way to hear what we sound like is to go to our music page and listen to some of our posted MP3s.

Experience
Stellwagen has been together as a duo for about 5 years. We played together in a previous band for another 7 years. This means we not only get along well, but we are comfortable exploring musical waters together.

The first couple of years it was just for fun because we simply like music so much. Then we started playing out for private events and then benefits and parties. The response has always been flattering, so we decided to polish things up even more and make a public launch.

Duo Sonic
We don't require alot of space and have a small PA we can set up almost anywhere, good for up to 150 people. For larger venues we expect to use the house PA or can provide a larger PA at added cost. When calling to book us, please keep that in mind. We are ideal to open for bigger name acts or can entertain a room for a full evening.

About Our Name
We looked for a name that would reflect our connection to our locale and to the sea. Our name is derived from the famous Stellwagen Bank, an historic fishing grounds off the coast of Massachusetts. Stellwagen Bank is now a National Marine Sanctuary.

Booking
We don't fit well with blaring TVs with sports shows, country western bars or anyplace that expects to dance or rock the night away. However, we do fit well in festivals, concerts, pubs, restaurants, function rooms or anyplace people go to enjoy good acoustic music. We aren't all soft and folky, but we aren't going to rock a roof off either. We do not have a drum kit but do add hand (and foot) percussion in many songs.

So, whether it's simply as an opening act for another band, one of a group of acts for a benefit show, a house party or club event, please give us a look and a listen.
